Caricello (by Carvallo) comes from the cream of world-class stallions.

Approved for life by the Holstein Verband Stud Book because of his ride ability and jumping ability combined with his unbelievable bloodlines.

Sire Line.

His sire Carvallo (by Carthago) completed his stallion approval in December 1998 scoring 137.71 points, the highest jumper index of all tested stallions with a 10 in jumping ability. For the next three years Carvallo was kept for breeding by the Holstein Verband, a tribute to this extraordinary stallion. In 2003 he was sold to the United States to stand at the stud in Winley Farm.

Caricello’s grand sire Carthago (by Capital 1) also scored 10 in jumping talent and after a very successful jumping career representing Holland in both Atlanta, The Sydney Olympics and in fifteen Nations Cup’s he retired to stud. He is number six in The World Breeders Sires Of Show Jumpers 2006.

Caricello’s great  grand sire Capital 1 described as “the best jumper sire maker in the world”, with such great names as Carthago, Cassini, Campione, Cento Corso, VDL Cardento and many more world and Olympic winning sons and daughters , its no wonder he is number six in The World Breeders Sire Of Show Jumpers 2006.

This sire line goes back to the great TB Cottage Son who is today in the blood of the four of the top stallions in the world and was represented in over fifty percent of the top thirty horses in the Olympics 2004. On Caricello’s sire blood-lines we also have seen such great stallions as Calletto ( Cor De-La-Byere) sire of Cantus and Classic Touch (Gold Medal Winner Barcelona Olympics). He is Dam Sire of three of the top ten stallions in world 2006.

Cor-De-La Byrere, bred to be a jumper as he is a descendant of  Bay Ronald. Rantzau I by Foxlight by Foxhunter by Fox Law by Son-In-Law by Dark Ronald by Bay Ronald. On the dam side Cor-De-La-Byrere was out of Quenotte B by Lurioso a son of the great Furioso. Cor-De-La-Byrere sired such greats as Calletto I, II, III, Calypsol I, II, III, IV and V. Corrado, Cordalme II, Calando I, II, IV. Calvados I,Cavalier Royale and many more.

Cor-De-La Byrere TB is in the immediate breeding of four of the top ten sires in the world.

Landgraf I, his list of show jumping offspring is endless. Freestyle won The Achen Grand Prix, Libero H won Dutch National titles five times, Volvo World Cup 1994 and is number five in The World Breeders Sire of Show Jumpers. Others include Lacross, Lucky Luke, Landlord and many more.

Ladykiller TB, also sire of Lord was a very influential TB in Holstein descended from the famous line of Phalarius and Hyperion.

Fra Diavolo TB the foundation sire of Selle Francais is found in most of the great French bred show jumpers including Guidam.

All the above horses have been described in such ways as “revolutionizing jumping horse breeding”, “ most influential stallions of Holstein” and  “pillars of modern show jumping breeding”. These are far and away the most important sires of the world.

Dam Line.

Caricello’s Dam Grace BB (by Lord) bred many International show jumping horses. From the same mother-lines approved stallions Cezaro (by Cantus), Le Martin (Lord), Literat (Lord) and Lantaan (Lord) were bred. Caricello’s grandam Padura is the daughter of Raimond from the famous mare Flandia. The mother line goes through the stallions Farnese and Cottage Sun XX back to the mares Alda and Polda from the famous lineage 504. Also bred from this lineage were the International show jumping horses Operetta La Silla ridden by Jan Tops and Lianos ridden by Rodrigo Pessoa.

Caricello Dam Sire Lord (by Ladykiller) produced many great jumpers who competed in World Championship and Olympic Games. Lord has been one of the most influential sires in the history of Holstein bringing extraordinary jumping abilities and spectacular movement to the breed. Lord was the champion of the 1969 Verband approvals and later competed in advanced three-day eventing. Lord’s best known son Livius (Bronze Medal 1984 Olympics, European Championships, 1st Nation’s Cup, Rome, Hickstead, Spruce Meadows, 1st Grand Prix of Rome, Ox Ridge Grand Prix, Grosse Volvo Deutschland Preis, Everest Double Glaxing National GP.

Lord is found in countless pedigrees of Holsteiner horses around the world.

We also see Ramzes sire of the great RetinaZ (Hamburg Jumping Derby Winner), Remus ( Silver Tokyo Olympics), Robin (Munich Games Gold), Romanus,  Romona and Raimond  sire of  Ramiro. Ramiro as we all know is one of the most successful sire and sires of show jumpers of all time. It is also interesting to note that Caricello has the blood of Cottage Son TB, three times, Ladykiller TB, twice Cor-De-La Byrere TB, three times, Ramzes, three times, Furioso TB, three times and Fra Diavolo TB once. It is a well-established fact that of all the above sires pass on the valuable genes that stand for good temperament, rideability and jumping talent.
